While most of the contents of this page centred around the main works, research and observations realized in operation, it is fairly necessary to also outlines what are to be of the motivation, condition of existence, our philosophies and what to believe in. Furthermore, it is also the concentrated analysis that we would have to make, in dealing with any given scientific pursuit, any form of novelty and research, and any process of dealing with experimental-theoretical propositions, in the case we should not make it sounds like a bunch of crackpots.

Nominally, RHINE-MTAIL is the core splinter group, under direct and incorporated control of the main laboratory, RHINELAB (or RINALAB, as the second name), focus on delivering and outlining the work mode operation of subsequent components, governance models and analysis during its operation, a large portion of modelling-theoretic theory of science, which simply means we treat science, largely initiated of this line of thinking from Kuhnian cycle, to be a system of model, arbitrary given ¹, and is capable to be changed, diluted ², deferred ³, and so on. One of the main goal in such regard is to diagnose the structure, and to see the failure point, as if nothing is seen or recognized, nothing can even be done. That is why you would see the initial idea when MTAIL was formed, is to create the ordering level of fundamentality, from CI to CIII, respectively.

¹ If pushed far enough, this central view admits that even mathematics is under scrutiny as for it to be also, a model - a very good one that a lot used it for.

² When a theory is operated upon, there exists the risk, or rather the inevitability of it reaching further out, thus diluting the main framework into a proliferated view of different applications, different apparatus and contexts, and so on. Another notion that also falls into this umbrella is when heuristics are too much and dilute the field of its central tenet, and thus make it so to be an in-depth dilution, both in the stacks that every heuristic and empirical claims have made, and in the depth of the dependency track follows.

³ When a theory fails something, or in contest, it usually defers the topic into unsolvable, claiming of correctness and reevaluation of such problem of its existence, projecting to correct one problem in opposition while laying out severals, or defers directly the problem as a special case, perhaps.

Aside from such governing role that feeds into the philosophy and operational mode of RHINELAB itself, the subject of MTAIL is pointed, and foundational in its core. The main subject of the lab includes several ‘doctrines’, each of which can be considered or thought of as specific analytical views, subject of studies and expansion, or analytical direction on many fields (basically means the posture and the upper-theoretical that would be applied or stationed when working on particular fields). Some of them are about artificial intelligence, some of them are about theoretical research, such as pure mathematics, theoretical physics and the contact with non-pure, applied sections. Some of them are about the thesis of a more foundational stack, i.e. mathematical modelling and the entirety of modelling theory in full, information theory and adjacent arguments.

Perhaps, before we list them in details of the philosophy and what to cover thereof, we can think of the central research of MTAIL as the scientific rigorous framework itself - concerning of all relevant topics, of all load-bearing foundational field or systems, and the extension thereof. It is really hard to say without committing to any specific form of framework, because those contain their own bias or structural views, of which all can be considered a piece of reality or the actual substance itself. Thus, in a sense, MTAIL’s interest, even if the topic and starting point varies, all point to a singular thread - the deepest possible investigation and research of the bodies of (rigorous) theoretical-empirical studies, and their connections to the realized world ⁴. And lastly, the research on which to diagnose the cost of everything - of the move from theory to practice, of practical to what is written, of where to which, of what to whom, all of which contingent and hidden under decisions and discourses of which have been implicitly formed. Such is the wish and the goal of what to be realized of the laboratory itself.

⁴ By realized world, we note that the word world in particular is often overloaded with meanings. In retrospect, one can have the phase world (space), which already presupposes a specific form of encoding to express the expression thereof relevant to the properties or description desired, a proxical world where it is an idealized setting of a more complex situation, and then the physical world where the physical manifestation and existential condition is forced (i.e. instead of infinite apples, you have finite \(n\) apples instead). Such would also be representative of what the laboratory would study as a topic, because while saying such, we are not satisfied by philosophical talk, but also unsatisfied of the technical jargon either.

The general theoretical-empirical research

The posture that MTAIL wants to equip itself with, under investigation, and in build-up for RHINELAB, can be perhaps minimally expressed of the following points. Note that they function mostly, or rather deliberately like an assertions list, less than typically what to be ‘study and go’, perspectively. That said, if to summarize it in a few parts, such would be that we aim to formalize and research of everything from scratch, of each assumption, each choice, of all the historical records and evolution, of all logical lines of evolution and not just the end results, and even more so the entire field of its open problem and the load-bearing pillars that are scaffolding the entire modern system of studies.

Why, would it be so of a decision template, or rather to pursue such interest? Why would it not be easier to stand on the shoulder of the giants and forever holding such order of authority without knowing? Would it be so satisfying as to never question the ground, be it for good or for bad, be it for change or for resolution, for the search of something or the excavation of the past, be it so, now that cowering into a corner of obsession with hedging, the culture of which we are to believe that we have known everything, saying in passing, while simultaneously believing that we do? We ought, at least of MTAIL and the wider RHINELAB, not to follow such line of argument and thought of work, be it so passing by of convenience, be comfort the enemy of real thoughts, and only genuine thoughts as unconventional and unsatisfying as it is, be the honest one. Let us build and analyze from the ground up. Build the theory, the pre-theory, the system, the way to analyze, all the way to the top, all the way to the side, to see the assumption, to the logical process, to situate oneself in the process of revolution or progress in what to be of concerned of science, because for once scientists are all but mortals, and the giants were once nobody. Let us see through and build everything, even with a manual, yet to understand and fully appreciate it, rather than simplify it, hedging it until where we see our ends, or neglect it away. Let us see what theory is, and to see of which empirical be, not just the word, the simple definition but the comparison and structure thereof. In a sense, what to ask of MTAIL, is to devise and to create the bodies of works, that focus on the art of building knowledge, building science, building theories and the opposition thereof, the stack of pre-theory constructs and statements that come before any theory comes to fruition or statements; and last of all, from the anthropology, to live in such process, framework and philosophy. This, includes mathematics, includes all form of sciences and theoretical studies, and the way each of the theories are formed of their load-bearing nodes.

Poetic as it might sound, and philosophical as it might get, the point is simple: we are in the period of many information. We are in the time when knowledge proliferation is not exquisite virtue but real access. Where theories and knowledge has been built substantially. MTAIL simply seeks to analyze this in full. That, and the more theoretical and imaginative part of theoretical studies. Because man once dream, and Icarus once soared. Where he felt, he smiles because he knows he tried. Of the imagination that catches our wing, be it broken and never realized, let it be that our mind have tried, not to look above and stare at the dazzling sun without reach. MTAIL exists to study what it means to build knowledge — rigorously, historically, structurally, and from the inside — across every domain RHINELAB touches. Such is also why, don’t ask when we cover a lot of fields.

After that, what to be illustrated of such? Many of those points will be repeated later, but let us try to attempt doing so right now, as the prescription downward.

First, is one of the direct address of what we dub as the theoretical-practical gap, between theory and practices. (TBD, I will write more later)
